Each of the three games has been extensively optimised to make the most of NVIDIA graphics cards, and PCs in general. Batman: Arkham Origins, launching October 25th, exemplifies this with half a dozen PC-exclusive enhancements.

Batman: Arkham Origins

First and foremost, Batman: Arkham Origins features extensive use of NVIDIA GPU-accelerated effects, adding extra realistic detail to the whole, dramatically increasing image quality. Ranging from smoke, to steam, to snow, and beyond, PhysX is one of the key differentiators between versions of the game on other platforms and non-NVIDIA systems. For a taste, check out the PhysX demo below:

Note: Footage taken from an earlier version of Batman: Arkham Origins. PhysX now has even greater image quality and can be found in many more in-game locations.

We've worked hand-in-hand with Warner Bros. to greatly enhance other elements of the game, too. Batman’s cape is enhanced with detail-adding DirectX 11 Tessellation; shadowing throughout the game is enhanced with NVIDIA Percentage-Closer Soft Shadows; shading is enhanced with NVIDIA HBAO+ Ambient Occlusion; out of focus depth of field effects are enhanced by NVIDIA’s Bokeh and Depth of Field technology; and anti-aliasing is enhanced with the addition of NVIDIA TXAA, a lauded temporal anti-aliasing technology.

DirectX 11 Tessellation is also used to add real geometric detail to snow drifts found throughout the snow-filled streets and rooftops of Gotham City. Furthermore, this enhanced snow can be manipulated and displaced by the actions of Batman and his enemies, adding an extra degree of realism and fidelity to the world.

Like Batman: Arkham Origins, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is bursting with NVIDIA technology.
